Have you ever wondered, “What do I do with my recycling?

GB needs your: Plastic containers, Corks, Boxes, Buttons, Plastic Bottle, Toilet and Towel Paper Rolls, Egg Cartons and Bottle Tops.

Please clean donations before bringing them to the lab, avoid glass or any other sharp materials, and see them transformed into fantastic innovations!

The Los Altos Educational Fund

LAEF:

What we do: We fund teachers and staff for STEM, Wellness, Literacy and Art. The 'extra' bits that bring so much more to Los Altos kids.

How? We have a goal that parents donate $1,200 per student to LAEF this school year but we welcome donations of any amount.

Our aim is to raise $3.4 million for LASD. Visit LAEFonline.org to learn more about LAEF and Donate Today!

In order to keep our lab stocked and ready for creativity, we need your S.T.U.F.F (Scraps That are Used For Fun). Please clean donations before bringing them to the lab, avoid glass or any other sharp materials, and feel free to donate all year long. Don’t be surprised if you see your materials transformed into fantastic innovations!

We are proud to support the Los Altos School District (LASD) to provide a well-rounded education for your student.

Watch our new 2-minute video, “Funding an Excellent Public Education” and learn why our local public schools need your financial support, and how LAEF and your school’s PTA work together to support your student.

LAEF will fund teachers and staff for STEM, Wellness, Literacy, and Arts for every LASD student in grades TK-8.

Whether your student’s favorite part of the day is PE, art, music, STEM, computer science, library, or a junior high elective, your donations to LAEF help make that possible.

PICK UP STUDENT’S MEDICATION - From School Office

Medications will be available for pick up from June 12th (last day of school) to June 18th, 2019. We cannot store medications over the summer. If you are leaving before school ends, please pick up medications early.

Art Docents

The Los Altos Art Docents are 92 dedicated volunteers who have taught 803 art lessons to the elementary school children in the Los Altos School District.

This year at Gardner, the docents taught 88 art lessons. Thank you to Gardner Bullis parents Heather Johnson, Yuki Ranganathan and Bahareh Solook who contributed to the success of the Art Docent program this year and to Carolyn Pierce-Whang for firing all the clay pieces the students made. Congratulations to our newest docent Melissa Browne for completing our training, look for her in the class more next year!

The Los Altos Art Docents welcome new members to join the next docent-in-training class in the fall. New docents are trained on Thursday mornings starting in September. To learn more, come to our informational coffee on August 29th at 10:00 am in the boardroom of the district office.
